During the reign of the 3^rd and 4^th Gangkar Lama, the teachings spread widely. However, Mongolian armies entered Qinghai and parts of Kham, burning, killing and plundering, destroying everything. Buddhist teachings in Minyak declined, all monastries were destroyed. A dark time came lasting about 300 years.
